GEMOLOGY WORLD

ammolite
Ammolite is a unique Canadian gemstone

Gemmology is the science about gemstones.

One of the objectives of this website is to provide gemmologists from around the world with an opportunity to exchange information in a fast and efficient way. At the same time GEMOLOGY WORLD™ can serve as a resource for the general public to learn more about gems, diamonds and jewellery.

Gemstones have intrigued mankind since early times in history. Today new challenges have to be met by the professional gemmologist in detecting synthetic gem materials, colour enhanced and simulated gemstones, and most recently as reported in the news media - the colour enhancement of diamonds.

We hope that we can contribute to an international network of gemmologists in sharing information about all aspects of gemmology ranging from new gem deposits to innovative gem identification techniques. Please feel free to contact us with your ideas.

The website is also Palm and PocketPC ready including WAP services.

What's new?

This is what you can expect in GEMOLOGY WORLD in the near future: Gemology World has been on the WWW for over 15 years. It was one of the first jewellery related websites on the Internet. I remember writing the first pages in source code (I still do) without the availability of any books and publishing programs.

A lot has changed since then. Today you can visit flashing websites with dozens of advertising banners and a multitude of graphical interfaces.

I constantly evaluate whether any of these innovations may be beneficial for GEMOLOGY WORLD. Please visit again soon.

This site is continously growing and evolving. If you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to send them.
