From the Collection of the National Jewels of Iran

at Bank Markazi Jomhouri Islami Iran, Teheran

Jewellery experts and historians have long known from reports and publications that one of the most splendid collections of gems and jewellery of the world were to be found in Teheran, Iran.

For many years I have attempted to obtain more information about this suberb collection; finally with the help of a C.I.G. student I was able to obtain a larger number of images which I compiled into a slide show now accessible to everyone. Very little information is available about the individual pieces; but the pictures will speak for themselves. From the artistic viewpoint and historical background the Treasury of the National Jewels of Iran is on a level that even the most expert evaluators have not been able to put a price on. Every piece of the collection is a reflection of the tumultuous history of this nation and a result of the creativity and artistry of its people.

The only source for more detailed descriptions of the individual pieces is the Guide for Treasury of National Jewels, published March 2001 by the Cultural and Public Relations Management, Bank Markazi Jomhouri Islami Iran.

More recently (2007) I have found excellent information about the collection at the Iran Chamber Society.
